Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative for the Maryland Health Connection, you'll be responsible for providing information and assistance to individuals, families, and small group employees seeking information, enrollment assistance, and other services related to the Maryland Health Connection. You'll utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other State systems to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers, ensuring delivery of high-quality service for all Maryland consumers.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to individuals, families, and small group employees seeking information, enrollment assistance, and other services related to the Maryland Health Connection

  • Utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other State systems to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers
  • Assist individuals regarding eligibility and enrollment for Medicaid, and services applications and enrollments for Qualified Health Plans on the Exchange
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of customer interactions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends

Essential Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a call center or healthcare setting

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve complex issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with Medicaid, Qualified Health Plans, or other healthcare-related programs

  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other State systems
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
