Experienced Customer Service Representative – Air Travel Industry

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide friendly and courteous service to all internal and external customers, ensuring a positive experience for every passenger.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our airport stations.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process transactions, including ticket sales, baggage handling, and reservations.
  • Manage cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment for tickets.
  • Balance daily transactions and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Inspect baggage and freight, answering phone calls to provide information to guests, paging customers, resolving issues, and assisting on a case-by-case basis.
  • Load and unload aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage overbooked customers due to oversells, delayed or cancelled flights, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage.
  • Resolve issues quickly and in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on flight schedules, reservations, and flight departures/arrivals.
  • Answer general questions from customers and other airport guests.
  • Complete forms and reports as required by the company.
  • Write incident and complaint reports as needed.
  • Perform other work duties as assigned by supervisors.

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Ability to type or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet the needs of the job.
  • Ability to understand reports, follow instructions, learn and comprehend tagging techniques, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team, meet the public, and work under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to complete the Customer Service Representative training program with an 80% or higher average and pass the assessment period.
  • Knowledge of hazardous situations and ability to handle crises on a case-by-case basis.
  • Ability to work under close time constraints to achieve quick turnaround of aircraft.
  • Ability to maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Ground Service Worker Handbook and Work Schedule.
  • Ability to perform all job duties within a limited space.
  • Ability to communicate verbally by phone, in person, and on public address systems effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate information and directions verbally or through radio equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of airline operations and procedures.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy carts.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
