The Role
We are seeking an experienced Director, Data Analytics to join our Store Mechanization and Development team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing a framework of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our initiatives. You will define the metrics and lead the development of the data pipeline and dashboards to distribute these metrics and report progress towards our objectives to senior leadership on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and categorize data sources, including business areas and situations, data classifications, and data storage locations, as well as business data requirements, data management systems, and data quality.
- Analyze business issues within your area of expertise and challenge assumptions to help identify underlying drivers; identify and recommend solutions to business problems; and set meaningful expectations based on established progress rules and key metrics.
- Assess proposed business cases for initiatives and projects, translate business requirements into solutions, and align the team to the business strategy while executing expectations.
- Identify and recommend the most suitable reporting tools based on the setting and define application configuration based on client needs; includes building compelling stories based on the setting, presenting to and influencing different audiences using appropriate data visualization, and adjusting communication style based on partners.
- Provide overall direction by examining business goals and client needs - includes creating, delivering, building support for, and implementing business processes, plans, and projects; investigating costs and estimates and integrating into strategies; and deciding and supporting resource requirements.
- Create and use internal and external partnerships and organizations, lead key community engagement and outreach initiatives, and support partners while upholding and adhering to the organization's principles of integrity and ethics.
What You'll Bring
* Proficiency in SQL, Python, and big data tools (e.g., Hive)
- Experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker) and scheduling/workflow tools (e.g., Wind current)
- Ability to convey the details of a metric to leaders clearly
- Ability to connect the dots between data and its impact on the business
- Experience developing new metrics to track business influence
- Experience leading a team of analysts
- Willingness to build dashboards and reports that combine data from multiple sources
