The International Organization for Migration (IOM) In Iraq operates in camps, informal settlements, and areas of return and relocation to provide specialized protection assistance. IOM’s overarching goal on protection is to place the rights and well-being of migrants, including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), regardless of their status, at the center of its operations. IOM uses a rights-based approach to identify and address needs in humanitarian, transition, and development contexts, seeking to secure individual and group rights and to create a society in which these rights are recognized and upheld. Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing Under the overall supervision of the Head, Mobility Pathways and Inclusion (MPI) and the direct supervision of the Protection Coordinator, the Capacity Building Specialist (Protection) will be responsible for developing capacity building materials for Implementing Partners (IPs), as well as other relevant organizations and government entities on protection topics, including but not limited to: general protection, protection case management, community-based protection, gender-based violence, referrals, trafficking in persons, data protection, and disability inclusion. The consultant will work closely with relevant colleagues to develop materials and deliver trainings to partners.
