Graphics Designer - Product Packaging
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Graphic Designer specializing in product packaging to join our team. This role will focus on developing innovative packaging concepts for pet food products while managing all production-ready artwork and print deliverables. The ideal candidate is both creative and detail-oriented, capable of bringing packaging concepts to life while maintaining strict adherence to production specifications. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that designs are executed accurately from concept through final production. In addition to design responsibilities, the candidate must maintain organized records of product specifications, item configurations, and packaging assets across internal platforms to ensure consistency and operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Design & Concept Development Design innovative and visually compelling product packaging for pet food products. Develop new packaging concepts and design systems that align with brand guidelines and marketing strategy. Create 3D renderings and realistic mockups of packaging concepts for internal review and retail presentations. Design in-store displays, shelf layouts, and planograms to support retail merchandising. Production Artwork & Print Readiness Prepare production-ready artwork for packaging and print vendors, ensuring compliance with dielines, material specs, and print requirements. Maintain precise color management, file preparation, and print production standards. Coordinate revisions and updates to packaging files while ensuring version control and accuracy. Asset Management & Product Documentation Maintain organized records of packaging specifications, product configurations, SKUs, and artwork files across internal systems. Ensure all packaging files and assets are properly archived and accessible to relevant teams. Support cross-departmental needs by maintaining accurate documentation of packaging standards and product details. Contribute to listing accuracy across all platforms. Cross-Department Collaboration Work closely with marketing, production, and operations teams to ensure packaging meets both brand and manufacturing requirements. Participate in concept development meetings and packaging reviews. Support in generating marketing materials including but not limited to: flyers, pamphlets, catalogs, trade show and booth materials, online assets to be used in social media or other platforms
Qualifications
Required Skills 3 years of experience designing packaging within the consumable goods space Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc), Canva Strong experience with packaging design and print production workflows. Ability to create 3D packaging renderings and realistic product mockups. Strong attention to detail and file organization / record-keeping practices. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining production accuracy. Preferred Experience Previous experience designing food or pet food packaging. Knowledge of print production processes, packaging materials, and manufacturing workflows. Experience working with retail merchandising standards and packaging compliance. Experience designing retail displays, shelf layouts, and planograms. Compensation
Range PetKrewe is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $75,000 base salary Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, geographic location, and overall qualifications. This position may also be eligible for performance-based bonus opportunities or future incentive programs.
