Job Summary:

As an Experienced Dock Operations Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dock facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include freight handling, documentation verification, and customer service. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Our Experienced Dock Operations Specialists are responsible for the following key tasks:

Freight Handling:

Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Ensure that freight is handled safely and efficiently to prevent damage or loss.

Documentation Verification:

Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g., type, weight, hazardous materials) using current electronic or manual systems. Ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate.

Freight Security:

Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g., pallets, straps, rope). Recoup or repair damaged freight when necessary.

Customer Service:

Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed. Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Hostling Duties:

Perform hostling duties if required, including operating yard mules or other equipment as needed.

Compliance:

Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. Ensure that all duties are performed in a safe and responsible manner.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the dock facilities.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Age:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience:

Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift operations is preferred. If hostler/yard mule duties are required, experience is also preferred.

Math Skills:

Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Communication Skills:

Basic written and verbal communication skills are required.

Physical Abilities:

Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.

Physical Demands:

Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout the shift.

Teamwork:

Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Working Conditions:

As an Experienced Dock Operations Specialist at arenaflex, you'll work in a dock environment that's exposed to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise. Your hours may vary due to operational needs, and you'll have frequent contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
