Experienced Member Services Representative – Remote Customer Service Role at arenaflex

As a Member Services Representative, you'll be part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at arenaflex Credit Union. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Completing daily tasks related to check processing, object processing, direct deposits, and budget transfers
• Coordinating returns with vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
• Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
• Working member cases and sports assigned
• Following and maintaining guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines, as well as Federal Banking laws
• Processing mortgage payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
• Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
• Logging, reviewing, and making necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
• Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching
• Completing daily balancing and department closing
• Obtaining information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic budget transfer requests
• Researching and verifying incoming and outgoing budget transfer information
• Communicating with vendors to process budget transfers
• Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming budget transfer laws
• Depositing check returns, reviewing member check returns on draft changes, processing member checks, verifying members for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers
• Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

What you'll need for success

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A high school degree or GED
• Intermediate Excel and Word experience
• Previous customer/member service experience
• Previous banking or Credit Union experience
• Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
• Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
• Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs
• Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits under high volume pressure
• Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
• Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
• Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits
• Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance
• Must pass relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-employment compliance exams
