Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to join our team in a remote work environment. As a Sr. Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and insights that drive business decisions. You'll work closely with our data science team to integrate calculations and models into automated processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address business needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to gather, normalize, and process data that meets business and information science needs

• Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data set frameworks, and tools for continuous and batch processing
• Collaborate with the data science team to integrate calculations and models into automated processes
• Work with cloud-based platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) to design and implement data pipelines
• Develop strong data stores and data models to support information science and other internal clients
• Ensure data quality and accessibility standards are met by incorporating data from various sources
• Investigate current data technology conditions to identify and evaluate key capabilities and suggest solutions
• Explore new tools and technologies to determine the best approach given the requirements directed by the model or use case

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and developing data pipelines
• 5+ years of experience with SQL and Python programming languages
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark

• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js)
• Familiarity with the healthcare industry and its data challenges

* Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices
