As a Staff Software Engineer on our Wellbeing and Minister Efficiency team, you'll play a critical role in driving our initiatives to enhance specialist work processes and tooling through artificial intelligence and automation. Your contributions will help us build innovative solutions that improve Airbnb's core business. A Typical Day in Our Team
As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with talented engineers, product managers, and designers to build novel products and features that improve Airbnb's specialist efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to execute on product and business initiatives
- Driving, leading, and contributing to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, iteration, analysis, and deployment
- Reviewing code and design documents, providing feedback on item specs and prototypes
- Leading engineers within and outside your local team to solve complex technical problems
- Coaching other engineers to develop their technical and collaboration skills
- Fostering a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production tasks
Your Expertise
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 9+ years of relevant programming experience in a fast-paced tech environment
- Strong expertise with backend frameworks in large-scale service-oriented architectures
- Experience with frontend or full-stack development
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and with teams across the engineering, product, and design organizations
- Passion for efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality
- A love for collaborating through code reviews and design discussions, and a willingness to work on your colleagues' efficiency
- A bachelor's degree in CS or a related field, or equivalent experience
