The Role

As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you will play a critical role in our Occurrence Reaction Group, working closely with our team of experts to identify, mitigate, and recover from digital threats. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with specialists to analyze breaches, develop rapid response strategies, and enhance security measures
• Participating in incident response exercises and simulations to stay ahead of emerging threats
• Working with business clients to conduct needs assessments and provide high-quality technical solutions
• Ensuring that solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and departmental standards
• Managing timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery
• Serving as a resource to facilitate effective communication between business and innovation groups
• Participating in system and acceptance testing
• Extending your expertise to support group projects as needed

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, cybersecurity, or information assurance
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a fundamental understanding of data security and risk management principles
• Familiarity with Proofpoint PhishAlarm and ServiceNow Administration, Chance and Compliance (GRC) is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain complex programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A basic understanding of technical environments and a willingness to learn and adapt
• Openness to Agile philosophies and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Coursework or experience in network security is a plus
• The ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year is a plus
• Experience tackling business problems in a capstone or case competition is a plus
