Job Summary
We are seeking a Grant Project Specialist to play a key role in assessing the capacity of healthcare providers in Rhode Island to deliver treatment to newcomer populations. The successful candidate will develop an assessment tool, gather and analyze data, and collaborate with our team to inform healthcare services for individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island.
Key Responsibilities
As a Grant Project Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Developing an assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of healthcare providers to deliver treatment to newcomer populations, including refugees, temporary protected status holders, humanitarian parolees, asylees, asylum seekers, and those without status.
- Collaborating with our team to update the state's healthcare inventory and extract relevant data for the Health Systems Capacity Project.
- Distributing the assessment tool to healthcare providers in Rhode Island and collecting returned data.
- Conducting research on comparable assessment approaches and consulting with experts in treating newcomers to develop an effective capacity assessment tool.
- Identifying and selecting a digital database platform for collecting and analyzing data from healthcare providers.
- Utilizing the assessment tool to evaluate as many healthcare providers as possible through July 2025.
- Meeting regularly with Department of Human Services (DHS) staff to report on progress and strategize next steps.
- Analyzing collected data to draft a document outlining strengths and gaps within the Rhode Island healthcare landscape.
Duties Include

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduate-level studies in a community healthcare field, such as public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Understanding of the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities.
- Research experience and proficiency in utilizing research databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
