Experienced Customer Service Representative – Healthcare Claims and Benefits Support

About You

We're looking for an exceptional individual who is enthusiastic about delivering top-notch customer service. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for answering incoming calls from our clients, gathering required information, and making determinations. If you're a team player, a self-motivator, and committed to excellence, we'd love to have you on board.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Answering incoming calls from healthcare providers, veterans, and beneficiaries to gather required information and make determinations
  • Conducting every transaction with a customer-focused, courteous approach to ensure first call resolution and achieve quality scores while maintaining production standards
  • Researching and evaluating medical claims and benefits for proper adjudication
  • Documenting call activity and making requests for corrective action into VA systems
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of applicable VA regulations as they relate to 72-hour notification requirements
  • Maintaining access for all client systems, as assigned
  • Acting as an effective team member
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Preferred 1-2 years' experience in customer service
  • General office skills and knowledge of standard office equipment
  • Working knowledge of software such as Excel and Word
  • Data entry and 10-key experience necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation, energy, team orientation, professionalism, trust, personal honesty, and integrity, and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value

General Areas of Accountability

As a representative of arenaflex, you'll be expected to conduct business and personal affairs in a manner that is always a credit to the company. You'll also be required to maintain a good credit rating while employed with the company.

HIPAA and Privacy

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for following HIPAA guidelines for protecting the privacy and security of sensitive personal and/or health information. You'll also be required to complete annually required Privacy and Security Training.

Performance Management

All arenaflex associates are subject to regular performance management to determine if skills and training requirements are suitable for the position.

Machines and Equipment

The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as copiers and fax machines.

Physical Activity

The incumbent must be able to finger, grasp, feel, see, sit, hear, and speak. This position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting, and data keying are required.

Remote Eligibility

This position is Ad-hoc remote eligible. Eligibility is determined by Management or Talent Operations.

U.S. Citizenship and Work Location

U.S. Citizenship is Required for All Positions, and work on all positions must be completed in the Continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii.
