Job Summary
The Customer Development Manager is a critical role that requires a unique blend of analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. As a Customer Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs & assortments
- Communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels
- Staying informed of analytic best practices across the industry and providing effective information to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals
- Analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
- Tracking category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share
- Developing, communicating, executing, and monitoring specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews
- Creating and delivering effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats
- Evaluating and making recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory & fill rate objectives
- Understanding and applying customer, consumer, and industry insights using market research data to deliver category growth
- Ensuring superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and performing other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree and experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector; Adult Beverage preferred; Costco experience a value add
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills
- Incorporating and interpreting data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise action-oriented recommendations
- Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations
- Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc)
- Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations
- Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems
- Preferred experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel
- Strong leadership, decision-making capability, and a proven track record of success
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
