Job Summary

As an Experienced Patient Registration Specialist, you'll work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders to collect accurate and timely information for registration purposes. You'll be the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, addressing their concerns, and building trust through active listening and empathy. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills, communication expertise, and emotional intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

* Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment, often on your feet assisting patients complete their registration

• Collect patient and insurance information accurately and efficiently, using multiple programs and typing quickly to keep up with patient communication
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns, and building rapport in real-time
• Ask follow-up questions to ensure accurate information collection and ease patient anxiety
• Work in a fast-paced environment, often with clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care
• Collaborate with the Patient Registration team to ensure seamless registration processes and high-quality patient experiences
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on health plans, coverage, and regulatory requirements

Essential Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent

• Excellent customer service experience, with a proven track record of building rapport and resolving patient concerns
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often on your feet and with multiple interruptions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and empathetically
• Proficiency in using multiple computer programs and typing quickly to keep up with patient communication
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in healthcare or a related field

• Knowledge of health plans, coverage, and regulatory requirements
• Certification in customer service or a related field
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software
