As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist on arenaflex's After Hours Team, you will play a vital role in providing timely and accurate support to patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. With a strong focus on customer service, you will be the initial point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, facilitating patient healthcare needs and ensuring seamless communication between patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices.

Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Navigating the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining accountability for accurate data entry in the electronic health record.
  • Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and leveraging critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action.
  • Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and collecting and documenting demographics.
  • Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions, and communicating directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours.
  • Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and providing excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and facilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and ability to navigate multiple systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and patient satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare policies and procedures

  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Experience working with electronic health records and other healthcare software systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
