Key Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Coordinator for Workers Comp Utilization Review, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and interacting with clients and their staff on a daily basis to ensure timely resolution of client issues
- Receiving and processing referrals from providers and adjusters, including prospective, retrospective, concurrent, reconsiderations, and appeals
- Entering data into proprietary software and following through on the review process until completion
- Obtaining authorization from adjusters to proceed with the review for all provider referrals when required
- Assigning UR requests to a physician reviewer based on protocols and state guidelines
- Paying close attention to detail and being timely with all responses via telephone or email
- Maintaining various logs and performing other duties as assigned
- Participating in periodic, random QA reviews of their work for accuracy and adherence to protocol and best practices
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 3 years of experience in utilization review in Workers Comp
- 2 years of experience in medical terminology
- 3 years of experience in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:
- Experience working in a remote environment
- Familiarity with proprietary software and systems
- Certification in medical terminology or utilization review
- Experience working with clients and their staff in a customer-facing role
