Experienced Customer Service Representative – Patient Care and Commercial Account Support

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in handling initial customer contact, either in person, over the telephone, or via the web, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled in a timely, efficient, accurate, and courteous manner.
Job Overview
As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for receiving, qualifying, and processing customer orders, investigating and responding to customer inquiries, and maintaining accurate documentation. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that our patients, caregivers, referral sources, and commercial accounts receive the highest level of support and care.
Key Responsibilities
* Adhere to all state and federally mandated documentation standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and/or enter patient account profile information and accurate referral source data, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with our billing department.
- Enter all documentation in the computer system accurately and efficiently, meeting daily deadlines and requirements.
- Perform electronic verification of insurance as needed, ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
- Open new customer computer files and complete required documents before passing on account to the billing department, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing delays.
- Accurately and efficiently create the appropriate delivery, billing, and collection of paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Enter and confirm work orders and monitor open orders for accuracy and completion, ensuring timely resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
- Greet retail customers quickly and professionally, answer inquiries, and complete sales at the front cash register, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Intake and Insurance Verification
* At intake, prepare patient paperwork and enter all patient data correctly, including demographic information, physician, diagnosis, and payer, ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
- When appropriate, assess the needs of the patient and make decisions regarding patient service based on analysis of assessment of physician's prescription, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and support.
- Determine the best method for providing service while evaluating reimbursement and cost impact to the company, making decisions based on customer need, vendor pricing, and third-party reimbursement possibilities.
Telephone Orders
* Answer phones by the third ring, using all features of the phone effectively, and using hold only for short times and with good follow-up, ensuring timely and efficient handling of customer inquiries and orders.
- Utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or commercial account setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in computer software and systems, including electronic verification of insurance and patient data entry
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information
