Job Summary

We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. As a Shipping Clerk, you'll be responsible for receiving and processing shipments, verifying packages, preparing packages for shipping, and maintaining accurate records. You'll work closely with our logistics and customer service teams to ensure that our shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities

* Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt

• Pack or unpack a wide variety of items into or from cartons, boxes, or similar containers upon request
• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
• Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
• Contact supervisor if a mistake is identified
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
• Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
• Maintain accurate records
• Pick-up parcels from local stores
• Prepare packages for shipping
• Process all company shipments with required paperwork including shipping labels

Requirements

* Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data

• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Keen eye for detail
• High school diploma
• Able to read, write, and speak English
• Works well independently as well as with a team

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

* Professional interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficiency in using office automation systems
• Proficiency in writing and preparing memorandums and project papers
• Knowledge of Postal Service requirements and codes
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
