Experienced Data Engineer – Cloud-Based Data Pipeline Development and Support

About the DDSI Team

The DDSI team is responsible for supporting clients across arenaflex, including the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division. We use data science and engineering to drive business value and inform business decisions. Our team is made up of experts in data engineering, data science, and business analysis, who work together to develop and implement data-driven solutions.

Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our DDSI team, where you'll be responsible for developing and supporting our cloud-based data pipelines. As a Data Engineer, you'll work closely with our data science team to design and implement data pipelines that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining our data pipelines, as well as ensuring that they are scalable, secure, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Python

• Collaborate with data science team to design and implement data pipelines that meet the needs of our business stakeholders
• Develop and maintain data sets and databases to support business analytics and reporting
• Ensure that data pipelines are scalable, secure, and reliable
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data pipelines and data sets
• Develop and maintain automated workflows and scripts to support data pipeline development and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data pipelines meet business requirements

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
• Strong experience with Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
• Experience with containerization using Docker
• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality
• Experience with source control systems such as GitLab or GitHub

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies

• Experience with cloud design and product development, ideally with AWS
• Experience with automated workflows and scripts to support data pipeline development and maintenance
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
