Data Engineering at arenaflex

Data has revolutionized the way we operate at arenaflex. Our data engineering teams are responsible for curating Single Source of Truth information tables, generating and distributing automatic reporting, transitioning to modern data and reporting tools, and serving as a center of excellence for green data processing and control. As a Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping our data strategy and driving business outcomes.

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer in our OAP department, you'll be responsible for:

• Locating and extracting data from various sources to inform analysis, models, and project development
• Cleaning and curating datasets by identifying new data sources and collaborating with business stakeholders to determine the best source of data
• Working with data environments to enhance automated reports and analyses in support of divisional leaders and business units
• Leveraging emerging technologies and proactively identifying innovative approaches to communicate data and insights that meet divisional needs
• Supporting strategy development and project management engagements for business units and cross-divisional initiatives
• Training and mentoring team members on various skills and topics
• Practicing security-aware behaviors in all operational procedures
• Embodying a team-first mindset with the success of our team and business partners as the top priority
• Being intellectually curious, asking questions, and communicating ideas effectively

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• 3+ years of experience in a related field
• Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
• Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages
• Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and manage multiple requests with varying timelines
• Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems working independently or in a team
• Consistently prioritizes security and protection of self, others, and personal data
• Embraces diverse perspectives, thinking, and styles
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

• Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or other applicable quantitative field
• Previous airline experience
