Job Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative on our Payments and Digital Strategy team, you will be responsible for:

  • Completing daily tasks related to check processing, object processing, direct bills, and budget transfers
  • Coordinating return items with vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Working member cases/assignments and following established guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with NACHA regulations and federal banking laws
  • Processing mortgage bills, multi-account and member deposits, credit card bills, and other exams, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff exams
  • Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Logging, reviewing, and making necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Completing daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtaining information from members for timely and accurate processing of international and domestic wire transfer requests
  • Researching and verifying incoming and outgoing wire transfer information
  • Communicating with vendors to process wire transfers
  • Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming wire transfer laws
  • Depositing check returns, reviewing member check returns on draft changes, processing member checks, affirming members for outgoing wire transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing wire transfers
  • Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or credit union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits under high volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits
