Experienced Member Services Representative – Payments and Digital Strategy

Why You'll Love This Role

As a Member Services Representative, you'll be an integral part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at arenaflex Credit Union. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Completing daily tasks related to check processing, item processing, direct deposits, and wire transfers
• Coordinating return items with contributors, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
• Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
• Working member cases/assignments
• Following and maintaining guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines, as well as Federal Banking laws
• Processing mortgage payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
• Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
• Logging, reviewing, and making necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
• Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching
• Completing daily balancing and department closing
• Obtaining information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic wire transfer requests
• Researching and verifying incoming and outgoing wire transfer information
• Communicating with vendors to process wire transfers
• Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming wire transfer laws
• Depositing check returns, reviewing member returned checks on draft changes, processing member checks, verifying members for outgoing wire transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing wire transfers
• Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

What You'll Need for Success

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• Minimum Qualifications:

+ High school degree or GED + Intermediate Excel and Word experience

• Preferred Qualifications:

+ Previous customer/member service experience + Previous banking or Credit Union experience + Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience

• Skills, Licenses & Certifications:

+ Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software + Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs + Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills + Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team + Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data + Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high volume pressure + Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department + Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members + Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision + Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail + Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines + Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance

• Must pass relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-employment compliance exams
