Our Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program
We're proud to offer an "earn while you learn" Pharmacy Technician training program, recognized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Department of Labor. This comprehensive program provides you with an entry point to a career in healthcare, guiding you through the steps to become a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) licensed Pharmacy Technician. With our program, you'll gain the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in this rewarding field.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Assisting pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations
- Using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and manage inventory
- Providing exceptional customer service, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience
- Developing strong relationships with customers, patients, and healthcare professionals
- Maintaining accurate records, processing prescriptions, and handling cash transactions
- Assisting with stock management, ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments of prescription medications
- Participating in clinical services, such as collecting and labeling blood/urine samples, and assisting with medical services as required
- Collaborating with the pharmacy team to develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare providers and organizations
Essential Qualifications
* Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred
- Previous experience in retail or healthcare settings an asset
- Strong math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy systems
- Knowledge of inventory management and store operations
Preferred Qualifications
* Six months of experience in retail or healthcare settings
- Previous work experience with arenaflex
- PTCB certification or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with store inventory management and cash handling procedures
