Experienced Chat Moderator – Remote Community Management and Conflict Resolution Specialist

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced and empathetic Chat Moderator to join our remote team. As a Chat Moderator, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our Discord server remains a safe and enjoyable space for all users. This part-time, flexible position requires a strong understanding of community management principles, conflict resolution techniques, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Moderate the chat of the official Discord server, ensuring that all users adhere to the community guidelines and rules

• Delete messages that violate the rules of the Discord server, including but not limited to:

+ Hate speech or discriminatory language + Spam or self-promotional content + Inflammatory or provocative comments

• Ban users who have multiple and repeat violations of the rules of the Discord server, following arenaflex's established protocols for user suspension and termination
• Mute users who have violated the rules of the Discord server, as a temporary measure to prevent further disruptions
• Investigate reports made by users about violations of the rules of the Discord server, working closely with the arenaflex team to resolve issues and prevent future incidents
• Collaborate with the arenaflex team to develop and implement community guidelines, rules, and policies that promote a positive and inclusive environment

Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Strong understanding of community management principles and conflict resolution techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of users
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
• Familiarity with Discord and its features, including chat moderation tools and user management
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in community management, conflict resolution, or a related field

• Familiarity with arenaflex's products and services, including computer programming courses and social media apps
• Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with a commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive online community
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the community
