Accountant for Cannabis Brand (US-Based/Remote)

- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes.
- Post daily transactions in QuickBooks Online.
- Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly.
- Reconcile company credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom.
- Extract and compile expense submissions via Dext.
- Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.
- Identify and correct errors or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Assist with audit preparation and reporting as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry.
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms).
- Comfortable using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools.
- Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving acumen.
- Excellent communication and organization skills
