Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, learning about our products and services, and driving sales growth in your assigned department. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure a safe and shop-able environment for customers. With a focus on building relationships and delivering results, you'll be an integral part of our team, helping to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance with products and services

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs, and provide information to customers to drive sales growth
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
  • Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive business growth and customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience, preferably in a retail or home improvement environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new products and services
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a home improvement or building materials environment

  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with sales and customer service software and systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in multiple languages
