Faculty Training Specialist Rasmussen University Online/Remote

The Faculty Training Specialist serves as a strategic leader in faculty development, responsible for the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of faculty training protocols, onboarding practices, and professional development initiatives. This role focuses on designing and leading innovative faculty training programs and equipping faculty with cutting-edge teaching strategies and educational technology tools. By leveraging data-driven insights and collaboration with academic leaders, the Faculty Training Specialist ensures faculty are well-prepared to deliver equitable and effective learning experiences for all students.

This position goes beyond operational support, emphasizing proactive leadership in faculty development initiatives, including the creation of training frameworks, delivering impactful learning sessions, and leading collaborative efforts that align with the institution's academic goals.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership in Faculty Training (30%)

  • Lead the design and development of innovative training programs tailored to diverse faculty needs.
  • Create scalable and customizable training frameworks that incorporate institutional goals and emerging trends in teaching and learning.
  • Supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of training and development initiatives specific to faculty teaching Quarter One (Q1) students, ensuring alignment to faculty performance expectations and student success outcomes.
  • Serve as a thought leader on best practices for equitable teaching, assessment, and faculty preparedness.

New Faculty Onboarding and Training (20%)

  • Maintain, update, and lead a comprehensive onboarding programs for new faculty, emphasizing institutional values, effective teaching strategies, and learner-centric approaches.
  • Develop on-demand training content and microlearning modules to support faculty development throughout their careers.

Educational Technology and LMS Implementation (20%)

  • Lead the training and integration of new educational technologies and LMS updates.
  • Design and deliver workshops that help faculty effectively apply these tools to enhance learning outcomes.

Faculty Development Week and Event Leadership (20%)

  • Oversee the planning, creation, and delivery of Faculty Development Week sessions, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and faculty needs.
  • Lead high-impact development events, including keynote sessions and collaborative workshops, that inspire and empower faculty.

Data-Driven Improvement Strategies (10%)

  • Analyze faculty performance data, including student evaluations, observations, and program review metrics, to inform and refine training strategies.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders to implement evidence-based practices that address performance gaps and promote teaching excellence.

Reporting Relationships

The Faculty Training Specialist reports to the Faculty Training Manager.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education from an accredited institution is required.
  • 2+ years of higher education teaching experience,
  • 1+ years of faculty management, dean, and/or programmatic leadership experience, and
