Adjunct Faculty, BMS 407 Summer

Adjunct Faculty will teach one section of BMS 407: Germs 101 during Summer Session I.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver online, asynchronous course materials consistent with the approved course description and learning objectives.

• Design and administer assessments that evaluate student understanding of microbiology concepts and their societal relevance.

• Facilitate online student engagement through discussion boards, activities, and timely feedback.

• Hold virtual office hours and provide academic support to enrolled students.

• Submit grades in accordance with University deadlines and policies.

• Coordinate, as needed, with MCBS faculty to ensure curricular alignment.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field.

• Demonstrated expertise in microbiology, infectious disease biology, or related areas.

• Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level, or demonstrated potential for effective teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching online or asynchronous courses.

• Experience teaching non-major or general education science courses.

• Experience working with diverse student populations.

• Familiarity with instructional technologies and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).

Compensation Pay Range:

Fixed rate for 4 credit course, $7,403
