About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liferay Solution Architect to design and deliver robust portal solutions aligned with business and technical requirements. As a Principal Engineer, you will lead end-to-end solution architecture, address complex business challenges, and align technology with strategic objectives to ensure successful project delivery. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of Liferay applications, while reporting to the Manager, Digital Customer Experience.

What You Will Do

  • Architect and deliver comprehensive Liferay portal solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements, identify challenges, and drive process optimization and automation.

  • Provide technical leadership across the development lifecycle, mentoring teams on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Liferay-based applications and solutions.

  • Define system configurations, customizations, and integrations with Liferay and other enterprise systems.

  • Establish and implement quality assurance practices, including testing strategies, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices, while proactively resolving technical issues during implementation.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support user training, and stay updated with the latest Liferay technologies and industry trends.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a global, multicultural, and multi-location organization.

  • At least 4+ years of proven experience as a Solution Architect, with strong expertise in Liferay development/architecture and Microsoft technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, C#, RESTful APIs, SOAP, .NET applications, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions.

  • Solid understanding of database management and SQL.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Proven track record of designing scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions for complex business needs.

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery.

Bonus Points if You Have  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.

  • Proficient in working with databases and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint, along with experience in Jira.

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and effective presentation.

  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
