About the Role
As a full stack software engineer on our data platform team, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable and efficient systems that support our business needs. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions and improve our services. Your expertise will be essential in helping us tackle the next wave of challenges and achieve our ambitious goals.
Focus Areas
Our data platform team is divided into several focus areas, each with its own unique challenges and opportunities:
Database Access Stage:
This team builds and maintains an adaptable query engine that enables Netflix microservices to store, consume, and manage their data efficiently. You'll work on designing and implementing scalable and high-performance systems that meet the evolving needs of our microservices.
Data Stage Foundation:
This team provides a platform for our own data platforms, enabling us to rapidly develop and deploy cutting-edge data and analytics systems without building custom platforms for each new system. You'll work on designing and implementing high-impact frameworks, control, and deployment systems that meet the needs of running our data platforms at scale.
Big Data Figure:
This team is responsible for providing a cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at Netflix. You'll work on designing and implementing scalable and efficient systems that enable us to process large datasets and provide sub-second latency for specific types of queries.
Big Data Arrangement:
This team offers a platform for planning, organizing, and executing large data jobs and workflows in a self-serve manner. You'll work on designing and implementing scalable and efficient systems that enable us to process large datasets and provide a seamless experience for our users.
What You'll Do
As a full stack software engineer on our data platform team, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Design and implement scalable and efficient systems that support our business needs
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions and improve our services
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams to drive cross-functional initiatives
- Contribute to open-source projects and add to arenaflex's OSS contributions
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the quality of our codebase
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the industry and apply them to our systems
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a talented and motivated full stack software engineer who is passionate about building scalable and efficient systems. You should have:
- 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications
- Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Experience with web services and APIs
- Strong understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- A BS in Computer Science or a related field
