Account Manager - Sales Central Europe (m/f/d) (Belgium, Brussels-Capital Region, BE)

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our Absorbents & Additives Business Unit, where you will drive sales growth and customer relationships across Central Europe. You can be based either in Belgium or The Netherlands.  In this regional role, you will report to the Sales Team Manager Central Europe and serve as the strategic link between our diverse customer base and our internal technical, marketing, and supply chain teams. This position offers the opportunity to manage a substantial customer portfolio while promoting our full range of innovative additives, including flame retardants, performance additives, and waxes. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales relationships with 50-100 customers across Central Europe and selected segment customers in neighboring countries. 

  • Implement Business Unit strategy including pricing initiatives, project launches, and new product developments within assigned territory 

  • Promote and sell the complete portfolio of BU Additives products including flame retardants, performance additives, and waxes.  

  • Steer and develop distributor partnerships at country level to maximize market penetration and customer reach 

  • Coordinate and support project-driven developments in collaboration with BU Technical Marketing groups 

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new customer opportunities within assigned territory to expand market share 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal functions including Customer Service, Marketing, and Supply Chain 

  • Conduct frequent customer interactions through on-site visits, virtual meetings, and strategic account planning sessions 

  • Execute Coordination Account Management activities on local and regional levels to strengthen customer partnerships and ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders 

  • Drive regional coordination and collaboration between Sales Teams in neighboring subregions 

  • Maintain accurate CRM opportunity pipeline and contribution margin reporting to support business forecasting 

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of proven success in Sales, Marketing, Project Management, or Key Account Management, preferably in the specialty chemical industry, in particular the plastics, coatings & adhesives industry 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer portfolios and achieve revenue targets in competitive markets 

  • Strong command of MS Office suite and digital business tools including Power BI, SAP, and CRM systems 

  • Fluent English required; proficiency in Dutch and/or German strongly preferred 

  • Advanced negotiation and influencing capabilities with the ability to create win-win solutions for customers and the business  

  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to address customer challenges and identify growth opportunities 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across functions and cultures 

  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 

  • Deep commitment to understanding and exceeding customer expectations while driving sustainable business growth
