Overview

The Social Media Intern is responsible for planning content, engaging with our communities, and working closely with key brand functions. This position reports to the Social Media Manager and focuses on assisting in executing engagement strategies, managing conversations, and contributing to user-generated content and employee advocacy initiatives as a producer and storyteller of the brand. The Social Media Intern serves as the voice of Cavender’s in social media, building relationships with customers and advocates while supporting content amplification and engagement efforts across all channels.

Duties and Responsibilities    

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive out Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Assists in day-to-day social media activities, which include sourcing, curating, and distributing diverse user-generated content on all social platforms, driving customer engagement, and building a social community around the Cavender’s brand through thoughtful, relevant commentary
  • Assists Social Media Content Coordinator with onsite social media presence and support at special events, rodeos, grand openings, etc.
  • Assists in content copywriting and creative support for all social media platforms.
  • Research and identify opportunities to grow user-generated content by uncovering new audiences, communities, and content trends that expand reach and strengthen brand connection
  • Research and identify emerging social media trends, features, and innovative usage
  • Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities to encourage customer engagement and gain insight into customer behavior and buying patterns
  • Assist in the execution of special projects as assigned or needed
  • Ensure all materials are on time, error-free, and optimized to deliver on key performance indicators

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited high school or collegiate institution
  • Passion for the Western lifestyle and fashion industry
  • An avid interest in social media, western retail, and content creation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High integrity with the ability to represent Cavender’s in a highly respectful and positive manner
  • Ability to interpret documents
  • Ability to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks
  • Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
  • Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
  • Associate must be able to stay alert during work hours assigned
  • Based in Tyler, TX at our home office

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Action-oriented with the ability to prioritize and drive results
  • Ability to work individually on a project or within a team environment
  • Ability to handle high-pressure/stressful situations in a professional manner
