Psychometrician

Summary of Position

Assessment Systems provides contracted services to organizations that seek to improve their assessment process and align with best practices, but do not have in-house psychometricians.  The situations vary widely: nonprofit certification boards, language assessments, K-12 companies, and governments (e.g., Ministry of Education outside the USA).  We are looking for a contracted Psychometrician to work on clients such as these.  Key skills include quantitative analysis (CTT/IRT/equating), test design, job analysis, standard setting, and test development.  Additional skills in program management, content development, and project management are welcome.  We recognize that this is a wide range of skills and that many applicants will lean towards one direction, so we welcome applicants with experience in a few of these.

You would do well in our company if you are an energetic self-starter with good decision-making, communications, and time management skills.

Job Duties

- Classical Test Theory analysis - Item Response Theory analysis - Equating - Test design - Pilot planning - Form assembly and publishing - Standard setting (usually modified-Angoff) - Management of assessment development

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate degree (preferably PhD) in psychometrics or industrial-organizational psychology
• At least two years of experience in data analysis and psychometrics
• Experience in programming, preferably R or Python
• Must be tech-savvy: proficient in Microsoft Office suite, able to learn new software quickly
