Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in Country Operations retail Agronomy. We are looking for a Key Agronomy Specialist to provide best in class agronomy product training to frontline sales, service, and support personnel.  You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail oriented. 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively influence and execute sales growth which supports Country Operations in seed, crop protection, fertilizer, Digital Ag, and precision ag marketing program utilizing sales enablers such as Agellum.
  • Effectively train agronomics and specific product expertise using sales processes defined in business unit to increase market share and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Create detailed plan to capture frontline product training needs and interaction tactics needed to meet sales metrics and provide customers a best in class buying experience.
  • Implement practical agronomic insight that brings value to the grower thru effective management of side-by-side field plots, Innovation Trials, and all associated product positioning and demonstrations.
  • Collect and summarize performance data to optimize products and service positioning.
  • Effectively communicate benefits and make recommendations for all commercial seed, crop protection products, fertilizers, Agellum and precision services.
  • Communicate interactions to appropriate business units and Country Operations.
  • Link customers to other CHS enterprise opportunities.
  • Effectively manage and monitor sales data by business unit to optimize results by individual frontline Agronomy Sales Rep- ASR as aligned.
  • Reside and maintain a home office in the assigned sales territory.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture related program (additional years of experience may offset education requirement)
  • 5 years of agronomy sales experience
  • Proven history of developing and implementing sales & marketing plans to increase business
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to travel independently with occasional overnight stays

Additional Qualifications

  • Certified Crop Advisor certification preferred
