IT Principal SAP Engineer

BluePrint Africa is hiring for an IT Principal SAP - ABAP Engineer with a global client.  This is a remote opportunity but the candidate should be resident in Eqypt.

Seen as a technical expert within the team, this role combines complex technical problem-solving with top-notch communication skills. As Principal SAP ABAP Engineer, you'll need to be able to share your knowledge clearly with fellow team members, interact with our business partners, and relay relevant details to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex to highly complex source code development
  • Assists in a complex to highly complex unit test case development
  • Develops complex to highly complex test scripts
  • Assists in the development of production support documentation
  • Provides functional/system integration testing support
  • Performs Quality Assurance architecture and design guide review
  • Contributes complex to highly complex technical alternatives
  • Conducts complex to highly complex impact analysis
  • Develops complex to highly complex component design
  • Provides complex to highly complex system/application architecture
  • Develops a Build and Deployment guide
  • Develops guidelines and standards
  • Evaluate, test, and provide recommendations for new tools for enterprise administration and performance management within the financial SAP systems
  • Identify and implements appropriate continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supports pieces of the implementation process such as project planning, post-implementation support, cutover plans, documentation, and transition planning.

    • Basic Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors or masters degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 6+ years of SAP - professional experience
  • Through knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies
  • Financial or Accounting background with familiarity with general ledger, financial transaction processing/budgeting/planning processes is preferred
  • Multiple years of experience providing production support including troubleshooting issues, requirements gathering, and solution design for enhancement requests, as well as implementing the solution, testing, process documentation, etc.
  • Experience customizing Fiori applications
  • Experience with SAP cloud-based platforms, e.g., BTP
  • Solid understanding of S/4 HANA implementations
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP transactions and Fiori Apps
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ABAP & ABAP object
  • Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO GL and reporting
  • Working knowledge of ABAP - BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, Enhancements, User Exits, CDS views, Eclipse, OData, SAPscript, Dictionary, Smart Forms
  • Experience working with SAP Support portal, researching/evaluating SNOTE and solutions
  • Upgrade experience including knowledge of SPAU/SPDD
  • Working knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared software concepts, business function(s), and I/T industry business issues
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, draw out unforeseen implications and make recommendations for design, define design reasoning, and understand potential impacts of design requirements
  • Extensive understanding of agile software development concepts and processes including backlog tracking, prioritization, strong collaboration within a scrum team, and adaptability through incremental delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication must be comfortable mentoring peers, creating and delivering presentations to leadership, and working directly with end-users / stakeholders
