Freelance Copy Editor & Proofreader
We seek a detail-oriented freelance copy editor and proofreader to polish manuscripts before publication. Core duties include:
- Proofreading manuscripts to fix grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting errors
- Ensuring adherence to style guidelines and standards
- Copyediting for syntax, tone, continuity, factual inaccuracies
- Providing page notes and comments to guide authors
- Ensuring quality standards for publication
Requirements:
- Copyediting experience with fiction or nonfiction manuscripts
- Highly attentive to detail - ability to catch issues in complex content
- Strong knowledge of grammar conventions, US English
- Collaborative, constructive communication skills
- Passionate about prepping content for audiences
