Risk Analyst
Empire Life is looking to hire a Risk Analyst to join their Risk Management team. The role involves supporting risk management initiatives, coordinating elements of the enterprise risk management program, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support risk management initiatives
- Coordinate major elements of the enterprise risk management program including risk identification and assessment procedures
- Monitor internal compliance
- Recommend and action changes
- Develop, execute, analyze and maintain risk management processes and tools
- Research and analyze risk management issues
- Develop risk metrics and trending analysis
- Provide guidance on methods and solutions
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to enhance the risk management program
- Develop precise and thorough documentation for the processes that support risk management
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with line management and senior leaders
- Ensure compliance with current and emerging regulatory and governing requirements
- Coordinate cross-functional and inter-departmental tasks to support the company’s business continuity management program
Skills
- 1 to 2 years risk assessment based work experience within the Financial Service industry (audit, actuarial, accounting, compliance, operations)
- Ability to plan and prioritize multiple initiatives and work with relevant business stakeholders
- Active listener / excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented and strong self-initiative with ability to take ownership of challenges and take appropriate action
- Creative problem solver
- Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database software and Power BI
- Completion of a university degree in a program such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or Economics
- Commitment to continue professional development to support career progression and role competency
