Billing Specialist
Latham & Watkins is one of the world’s leading global law firms advising businesses and institutions that drive the global economy. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and managing the master billing file, opening new client matters, validating rate logic, and ensuring data accuracy within the firm's Global Finance team.
Responsibilities
- Verifying and opening all client matters and timekeeper master setups, including billing rates and exception rate hierarchies
- Confirming client arrangements for special rate needs
- Ensuring the file set-up is done appropriately
- Evaluating and inputting the appropriate billing and exception rates into the Elite billing system
- Coordinating with attorneys, legal secretaries, HR managers, and accounting personnel regarding the receipt of required data, supporting documentation, and approvals in accordance with billing policies and procedures
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Skills
- Possess knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Exhibit the ability to comprehend and accurately perform mathematical functions
- Display the analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate data
- A high school diploma, preferably a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in legal billing or billing audit within a professional services organization
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with the Elite Billing system, preferably
