About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time High School Math Tutor to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. As a Math Tutor, you will play a vital role in inspiring and motivating students to excel in mathematics and achieve their academic goals. Job Overview As a High School Math Tutor, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one tutoring services to students in grades 9-12, focusing on high school math, homework prep, and other related subjects. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mathematics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, one-on-one tutoring services to students in grades 9-12, focusing on high school math, homework prep, and other related subjects. Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the individual needs of each student. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and our office to ensure seamless service delivery and address any concerns or questions. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including session reports and student progress. Follow up with our office to ensure that students' enrollment packages are up-to-date and that their needs are met. Service existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field, with a preference for experience in tutoring/teaching in specialized education fields. Minimum of 2 years of experience in tutoring/teaching high school math or related subjects. Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus but not a requirement. Experience with basic database/data entry and strong administrative skills. Ability to prepare accordingly for each tutoring session (lesson plan) and adapt to different learning styles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and our office team. Reliable transportation with current car insurance and access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities. Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods for high school math and related subjects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and student success. Experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
