A Biostatistician I, working under the direct supervision of a more experienced statistician, performs assigned tasks related both to statistical analyses and statistical programming. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• M.S. or equivalent degree in statistics, or related field

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Possess attention to detail, accuracy, initiative, and excellent communication skills
• Able to juggle several complex tasks simultaneously

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Responsibilities include a variety of statistical and programming activities, for instance:

• Analyzing data, including writing code using SAS or other statistical programs
• Preparing graphs, tables, and listings with in-house macros when appropriate
• Creating and auditing analysis programs
• Performing biostatistical analyses under the supervision of more senior staff
• Programming analysis datasets with guidance
• Remaining abreast of current advances in biostatistics relevant to DMC work
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position
