Job Summary
As a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst, you will work closely with our Incident Response Team to identify and mitigate digital threats, analyze breaches, and develop quick response strategies. You will also collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in emergency management, threat evaluation, and collaboration, and to develop a strong foundation in network security.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to develop high-quality technical solutions
- Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards
- Manage timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
- Act as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT teams
- Participate in system and acceptance testing
- Scope of work may vary depending on the team project
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, cybersecurity, information assurance)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Fundamental knowledge of data security and risk management principles, theories, and strategies
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred
- Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement preferred
- Major understanding of project management systems, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of technical environment required
- Openness to Agile philosophies preferred
- Coursework or experience related to network security preferred
- Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines preferred
- Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year preferred
- Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition preferred
- Functions well in a culture that is open, direct, conscious, gracious, and empathetic
- Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a cybersecurity or IT-related field
- Knowledge of network security protocols and procedures
- Familiarity with threat intelligence and incident response
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance
- Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools
