The Data Engineering Team
The Data Engineering team at blithequark is a key player in our organization's data-driven approach. We work closely with our colleagues in Choice Science, Client and Innovation, and other departments to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and datasets that support our business needs. Our team is passionate about leveraging data to tell stories, drive business outcomes, and create value for our stakeholders.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and support of cloud-based data pipelines for our Media business. As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you will work on a range of projects, including data pipeline development, data set design, and data visualization. You will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that meet our business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Python
- Collaborate with our data science team to develop and maintain data sets and datasets that support our business needs
- Work with our data visualization team to create data visualizations and reports that inform business decisions
- Develop and maintain automated workflows and data pipelines using tools such as Docker and GitLab
- Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure that our data pipelines are scalable, secure, and reliable
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for data engineering
- Work with our data governance team to ensure that our data pipelines meet our data quality and security standards
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
- Strong experience with Python and SQL, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake
- Experience with creating and maintaining automated workflows and data pipelines using tools such as Docker and GitLab
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS
- Experience with source control tools, such as GitLab or GitHub
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks, such as GDPR or HIPAA
- Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
