Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of data solutions that power our web-based features and applications. Your expertise will be critical in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making at arenaflex.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the design and development of our data items and data warehouses, focusing on data examination and information science
- Plan and develop flexible data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with languages including Python, Scala
- Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
- Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
- Be a proactive member and advocate of agile/scrum practices to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team
Key Capabilities:
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experienced insight with distributed systems like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Strong in Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard systems and practices
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
- You are a problem solver with strong empathy and excellent logical and relational skills
- Ideal to have experience with cloud advances like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
