[Remote] Software Engineer Intern
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Pitch Aeronautics is a rapidly growing startup creating innovative solutions for the utility industry. They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the development and maintenance of their software platform, assisting senior developers and engaging in a collaborative development environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to front-end and back-end development for our web-based applications
- Assist in maintaining and improving our AWS-based cloud infrastructure
- Help integrate with IoT devices and third-party APIs
- Collaborate with designers to implement responsive, intuitive user interfaces
- Participate in the development of RESTful APIs
- Follow secure coding practices and assist in maintaining security of utility data
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and QA as part of a collaborative development team
- Participate in Agile development processes
Skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant work experience
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React or Angular) and back-end languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js
- Experience working with AWS services or cloud-based infrastructure
- Proficiency working with version control tools (Git)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident due to ITAR and government contract requirements
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with web application development in a startup or small-team environment
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Exposure to cybersecurity best practices or certifications (a plus but not required)
