Experienced Member Services Representative – Customer Service & Payments Operations

As a Member Services Representative, you will be an integral part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at arenaflex Credit Union, working on a daily basis to process checks, direct deposits, and budget transfers. As a Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Completing data access and balancing tasks
  • Coordinating return items with contributors, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Working member cases/assignments
  • Following and maintaining guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Processing mortgage payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
  • Reviewing, examining, and approving Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Logging, reviewing, and making necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Processing Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Completing daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtaining information from contributors for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic budget transfer requests
  • Researching and verifying incoming and outgoing budget transfer information
  • Communicating with vendors to process budget transfers
  • Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming budget transfer laws
  • Depositing check returns, reviewing member check returns on draft changes, processing member checks, verifying contributors for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers
  • Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

What You'll Need for Success

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and contributors
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
