Structural Designer 2 - Oil & Gas
Sargent & Lundy is a leader in delivering advanced engineering solutions across various sectors, including oil and gas and power generation. The Structural Designer 2 will support senior designers and project teams in producing structural drawing deliverables while ensuring quality and timely completion.
Responsibilities
- Support senior designers and project team members across a wide range of technologies including power generation, mining, oil and gas, and renewables to ensure structural drawing deliverables are completed on-time and within budget
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to resolve physical design clashes within the 3D model, while also reviewing the 3D model for completeness
- Travel to client facilities with experienced project team members may be necessary to verify on-site physical design conditions
- Produce 2D structural drawing deliverables with attention to quality, consistency, and accountability that meets or exceeds customer requirements
Skills
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred
- CAD certificate required if non-degreed
- Previous relevant experience considered
- Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
- Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design
- Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Attention to detail

- Proficiency with Bentley OpenBuildings Designer preferred
- Bentley Microstation
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Autodesk Navisworks

- Trimble Tekla
