Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding Industry

Job Summary:

We're looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in international freight forwarding, ocean contract management, and negotiation to support the growth of our ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product. As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations to execute strategies that drive business growth, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Key Responsibilities:

* Support the growth of ocean volumes by developing and implementing strategies that enhance the effectiveness of sales to achieve account development and yield enhancement expectations

  • Collaborate with the MD of Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables, both internally and externally
  • Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy that maximizes competitiveness and enhances service quality
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
  • Gather, analyze, and report information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required
  • Work with the MD of Ocean and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed
  • Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, supply chain management, business administration)

  • At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
  • Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree or higher in a relevant field

  • Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (e.g., CSCP, CLTD)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in ocean freight forwarding

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:
