This role entails selling food and non-food items to achieve and deliver on sales and profitability goals. Primary areas of responsibilities are:

  • Primary owner of customer management/relationship• Analyze reporting to identify selling opportunities and engage customers in value added activities.
  • Leverage sales resources and managing pricing to achieve top penetration opportunities and the onboarding of new accounts. US Foods will provide comprehensive training for the Flex Sales Representative position.This position is virtual/remote which means the work can be completed from anywhere is the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. However, this role will require associates to work on Pacific and Mountain time zones due to the areas they will be supporting. RESPONSIBILITIES Selling Activities - 50%Applies strong listening skills while interacting with customers to understand business drivers/needs and translate company brands and points of differentiation to grow sales.Uses SOUS account metrics to proactively manage the current customers and identify penetration opportunities.Conducts 60-70 weekly connect calls through scheduled events to strengthen customer relationships and win penetration opportunities in a remote setting.Sells the right products at the right price by leveraging negotiation skills and understanding of trade-offs between sales growth, profit, and customer satisfaction.Prospecting and Win Back - 20%Navigates internal systems proficiently to build trust-based relationships to offer appropriate solutions in a remote setting.Utilizes SOUS dashboards and Events to organize and plan as it relates to the successful close of prospects and qualified leads.Collaborates with SC and Routing team to ensure a smooth onboarding and delivery for each new customer.Sales Support - 15%Routinely follows up with accounts through calls and emails to create an open channel of consistent communication, ensuring orders are fulfilled, and proactively providing additional value added services that strengthen the customer relationship.Collaborates with SC, Routing team, ROCs, and Specialists as needed to provide team based selling services, requesting support from in-field team for any requests that cannot be completed virtually (e.g., product integrity concerns, physical MOXē sign-up)Training/Coaching - 10%Supports other team members by sharing best practices resources, actively participating in virtual team training activities, and providing constructive feedback if requested.Attends weekly huddles with eagerness to learn and independently seeks to apply new learnings.Solicits and responds well to coaching and feedback provided in 1:1 ROI calls and work-withs; actioning feedback into improvement quicklyPersonal Development - 5%Update personal IDP and prepare for check-ins with respective leaders.Engage in formal US Foods performance management process.Strive to learn and benchmark against industry trends. (i.e., Engage in industry peer groups)Pursue other personal learning and development initiatives (i.e., LinkedIn learning, ERG memberships, etc.)SUPERVISION:N/ARELATIONSHIPSInternal: Work closely with Local Sales Leadership, Customer Contact Team, and Operations teamsExternal: Customer contacts for all assigned accounts.WORK ENVIRONMENTRemote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1+ year of sales experience preferred.Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.Competitive spirit and results driven mentality.Problem solving ability / Organization and negotiation skills.Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office products - Experience using Customer relationship management tools preferred (i.e., Salesforce).EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree is required.CERTIFICATIONS/TRAININGNote N/A if none are needed.LICENSESN/A.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMust possess strong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and follow through on commitmentsPHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONSStandard required physical activities including length of time performing each activity.Universal pay verbiage:Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
