Staff Experience Designer – DLS | Airbnb | $192k-$236k | Remote (USA)

The Community You Will Join: We are looking for a Staff Experience Designer to join the Airbnb design team to create world-changing products and experiences for Airbnb Guests and Hosts. This person will be a hands-on leader, elevating Airbnb design through their craft and pave the way for innovation in not only what we make, but how we make it. The Difference You Will Make: Airbnb’s design language system is authored by multiple teams and succeeds by providing high quality digital products, tools, support, education to the broader Design organization. This Staff Experience Designer will be the steward for Airbnb Design as it relates to systematic thinking, intuitive interactions, and attention to design details. The position uniquely involves setting design direction, working with cross-functional teams, partnering with our project teams to deliver an inclusive end to end experience, and execution of new design system opportunities. A Typical Day:

• Leads a project or initiative — helps define strategy, objectives and sets the vision for the user experience. Oversee multiple streams of work across all platforms and devices
• Inspire and direct their team to help them build towards a meaningful vision efficiently
• Responsible for advancing craft on their team. Ensures consistency and accessibility across a variety of products and platforms in the end-to-end user experience.
• Defines and evangelizes Airbnb’s design language system throughout the organization.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for a team of Experience Designers through the interaction and visual design of products and services from end-to-end for a global audience
• Partner with the Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientist, Researchers and Content Strategists to define problems & goals, map user flows, prototype interactions, and launch new products and services

Your Expertise:

• 10+ years of experience with end-to-end product design
• Defines the design process and can lead others through it. Can accurately scope their work as well as their teammate’s. Responsible for the work of other designers on their project. Can effortlessly motivate and drive small to medium teams to transform a product.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent visual, interaction and prototyping design skills
• Systems-thinker with the ability to think beyond the pixels and design for offline experiences
• Demonstrated ability to help a team navigate ambiguity, set vision and strategy for global products

How We’ll Take Care of You: The starting base pay for this role is between $152,000 and $207,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
