Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer Location: Remote in the US About NEXGEN Asset Management: NEXGEN Asset Management is the industry-leading Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software that combines a robust Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with advanced asset management planning tools. Backed by over 25 years of expertise, our web-based software supports comprehensive asset management programs, empowering organizations to maximize operational efficiency and strategic planning. Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced professional with strong expertise in Azure Administration (70%) and M365 Administration & Security (30%). The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level Azure environments while also managing Microsoft 365 services with a focus on security and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Azure Administration (70%)

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, Networking, Storage, Virtual Machines, etc.).
  • Manage and monitor Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center.
  • Configure and maintain Azure Active Directory (AAD), Conditional Access Policies, and Identity Protection.
  • Manage Azure subscriptions, RBAC roles, policies, and governance using Azure Policy & Blueprints.
  • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and cost optimization strategies in Azure.
  • Manage virtual networks, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, and load balancers.
  • Automate provisioning and operational tasks using PowerShell or ARM templates.
  • Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure security compliance, high availability, and scalability of Azure workloads.
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure seamless Azure operations and security integration.

Microsoft 365 Administration (30%)

  • Manage core M365 services Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Implement and maintain M365 security controls including Conditional Access, MFA, and DLP policies.
  • Manage Microsoft Defender Suite (Defender for O365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Cloud Apps).
  • Configure and maintain Compliance Center, Purview, and Information Protection policies.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for M365 issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Stay updated with Microsoft 365 roadmap, new releases, and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Technical Skills: Mandatory:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Administration, Azure AD, Identity Management, and Networking.
  • Proficiency in managing Azure AD P1/P2 features (MFA, PIM, PAM, Access Reviews, Conditional Access, SSPR, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration and Security tools (Defender Suite, Purview, AIP, DLP).
  • Experience in automation scripting (PowerShell).

Preferred:

  • Experience with Azure Automation, Azure Policy, and ARM Templates.
  • Knowledge of Hybrid environment integration (On-prem AD with AAD Connect).

Compensation: The compensation range for the annual base pay for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and education. A comprehensive benefits package is offered that includes three weeks of paid time off per year; paid holidays; a 401(k)-retirement plan with employer matching; health insurance; and other supplemental benefits.
